VODTEL Fully Distributed IP PBX Architecture (VFDA™)
No gatekeeper or server is required for MOSA 4600 series since it is designed with the VODTEL’s fully distributed architecture (VFDA™). There is no extra cost on purchasing and/or maintaining gatekeepers/servers. Never worry about the single-point-failure problem of gatekeeper/server. E.164 Compliance to Maintain Original Dialing Behavior
With MOSA 4600 E.164 compliance numbering rules, it is easy to configure for different dialing patterns simply through software settings, in order to maintain the original dialing behavior for various dialing requirements. Flexible barring rules of MOSA 4600 allows system administrator control well in phone call authentication, for various calling patterns from different level of callers.
Scalable and Flexible Configuration

Free phone calls/FAX back to their offices and homes
With VODTEL gateways installed and the Internet access, users away from home/office may call back to their home/office free life time. Call forward and call transfer functions make them have the mobility to make/take the calls while they are away from the gateway. With the VODTEL e-Access services, users may even call to any other MOSA/FONEMOSA gateway users without installing a gateway locally.
Functions
Auto Attendant
Auto attendant function is build-in MOSA 4600. With automatic attendant which plays recorded message and transfers incoming calls. The message can be recorded through telephone set or downloaded from FTP.
Network Operator Group
Any extension of MOSA 4600 can be assigned as an operator. Operators in different place can be arranged as network operator group. Any operator in network operator group can serve all incoming calls in the network.
Barring Class
There are maximum 6 barring tables and 6 exception tables in the system. Each extension can be assigned with one barring and one exception table for call restriction control. The barring for Inbound Transit call can be controlled by the PIN-Code.
Trunk Group
The FXO ports of a MOSA 4600 gateway can be divided into two trunk groups.
Trunk Class
Up to sixteen truck classes can be set in a MOSA 4600 gateway. This feature allows dedicated FXO port can be flexibly connected special device, such as the door phone, external paging and so on.
Line Group
A series of extension lines organized in such a way that if the first line is busy the next line is hunted and so on until a free line is found.
Call Pick-up
Customer can define pick-up groups. This feature isolates incoming calls to the proper area and enables an extension to pick-up a call from the same pick-up group.
Network Extension Line
The calling party may just dial the extension number to reach the called party, which locates in network. This feature allows the worldwide offices to each call other by extension number as if they locate in the same place.
Inbound Transit Call
Inbound transit call functions provide users with flexibility and mobility of using MOSA 4600 devices. If you are away from the office, users can call back to your office and contact to another MOSA or FONEMOSA users then.
Outbound Transit Call
With permission of another MOSA or FONEMOSA owner, you may call any people through that gateway so that no more international or long distance call cost.
Least Call Routing
With LCR feature, the “least cost” line of network will be selected to make the outbound transit call for international and long distance cost saving.
Call Transfer
The incoming call to any extension can be transferred to any other extension line.
Call Forward
The incoming call to a trunk or an extension can be forwarded to any other extension or gateway’s trunk within network. The call forward condition of extension can be set as: forward on busy, forward unconditional.
Automatic Trunk Selection
Any network extension line may seize MOSA 4600 gateway’s trunk just like making a local call. For example, the users dial “9” to seize a trunk for local call, but dial “(access codes)1415 “ to seize a trunk that locates in the USA.
Specific Trunk Selection
Any extension may seize a specific trunk of specific MOSA 4600 gateway.
Abbreviated Dialing
100 abbreviated numbers can be configured in each MOSA 4600 gateway for speed dialing and enhances port-based soft-key expansion.
CDR Collection
Through the RS-232 port or TCP/IP protocol, the call detailed records (CDR) can be collected locally or centralized for better call accounting management.
Other Functions
MOSA 4600 series also provides DND, DOD, alarm clock, soft-key, specified route, life line.
